Gas Hydrates: Recent Development and Commercial Approaches

Gas hydrates have the ability to become a vast energy source in the future and can fulfill natural gas demand in the
future. All over the world, there are huge sized deposits are present. At present demand for energy is growing, but
currently these are not present commercially. There are large deposits of gas hydrates, but safe and economic
production of gas from gas hydrates are not known yet. Hence, the development of new and economical, suitable
technologies and methods are developed for the dissociation of gas from gas hydrates. Currently the simplest and
economical dissociation technique is geothermal dissociation. The production method of natural gas from gas
hydrates is being developed such as depressurization, thermal stimulation and chemical injection. In this study, we
