Biography

Dr. Pandian Vasant is a senior lecturer at Department of Fundamental and Applied Sciences, Faculty of Science and Information technology, Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS in Malaysia. He holds PhD in Computational Intelligence, MSc (Engineering Mathematics) and BSc (Hons) in Mathematics. His research interests include Soft Computing, Hybrid Optimization, Holistic Optimization, innovative computing and Applications. He has co-authored research papers and articles in national journals, international journals, conference proceedings, conference paper presentation, and special issues lead guest editor, lead guest editor for book chapters’ project, conference abstracts, edited books , keynote lecture and book chapters (150 publications indexed in SCOPUS). In the year 2009, Dr. Pandian Vasant was awarded top reviewer for the journal Applied Soft Computing (Elsevier) and awarded outstanding reviewer in the year 2015 for ASOCO (Elsevier) journal. He has 25 years of working experience at the various universities from 1989-2016. Currently he is Editor-in-Chief of IJCO, IJSIEC, IEM, IJEOE and Editor of GJTO.

His main research interests are in the areas of Optimization Methods and Applications to Decision Making and Industrial Engineering, Fuzzy Optimization, Computational Intelligence, and Hybrid Soft Computing.

Biography

Dr. Mark Burgin received his M.A. and Ph.D. in mathematics from Moscow State University and Doctor of Science in logic and philosophy from the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. He was a Professor at the Institute of Education, Kiev; at International Solomon University, Kiev; at Kiev State University, Ukraine; and Director of the Assessment Laboratory in the Research Center of Science at the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. Currently he is working at UCLA, USA.Dr. Burgin is a member of the New York Academy of Sciences and an Honorary Professor of the Aerospace Academy of Ukraine. He was the Academician-Secretary of the Division “People and Universe” at the Academy of Man in Aerospace Systems (Ukraine), Chair of the IEEE San Fernando Valley Computer and Communication Chapter, (California, USA), Secretary of the International Society for Computers and their Applications (ISCA), and Award Chair of the IEEE San Fernando Valley Section (California, USA). Dr. Burgin is a member of the Science Advisory Committee at Science of Information Institute, Washington, and member of the Research Board of Advisors at the American Biographical Institute, USA.Dr. Burgin is the Editor-in-Chief of the international journals Integration and Information, Editor of the Journal of Computer Technology & Applications, Associate Editor of the International Journal on Computers and their Applications and International Journal of Swarm Intelligence & Evolutionary Computation, and Member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of Mathematical and Computational Science and TrippleC. He was a member of organizing and program committees of more than 50 conferences. He also organized and directed several ongoing research seminars in mathematics and computer science, such as Theoretical Computer Science (UCLA) and Foundations of Mathematics and Information Sciences (National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine).
