Ovarian vein thrombosis (OVT) most often a thrombophlebitis occurs most commonly in postpartum patients with pelvic surgery, infection, or inflammation, and hypercoagulability.
Ultrasound, Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and CT scanning are the best radiologic modalities for making the diagnosis of ovarian vein thrombosis. Treatment is combination of anticoagulation and antibiotics.
