Clinical Research

Clinical Research is the study of health and illness in people. These may be used for prevention, treatment, diagnosis or for relieving symptoms of a disease. It is different from clinical practice. In clinical practice established treatments are used, while in clinical research evidence is collected to establish a treatment. In clinical research, research is conducted either directly on a specific person or a group of people, or on materials from humans, such as their behavior or tissue samples, that can be linked to a particular living person. There are Different types of clinical research are used depending on what the researchers are studying. Example Treatment Research, Prevention Research, Diagnostic Research, Screening Research, Quality of Life Research, Genetic studies, Epidemiological studies. According to the National Institutes of Health clinical research can be Patient-oriented research, Epidemiological and behavioral studies, or Outcomes and health services research.
