In remote sensing application, a change may be considered to as an alteration of the surface components. Change detection is used in Forest or vegetation, landscape and urban change. The process of identifying differences in the state of an object or phenomenon by observing it at different times. It is useful in many applications such as land use changes, habitat fragmentation, rate of deforestation, coastal change, urban sprawl and other cumulative changes. it involve the application of multitemporal datasets to quantatively analyse the temporal effects.
