Stem cell therapy replaces and/or repairs dead or diseased cells. There are various types of Stem Cells: embryonic stem (ES) cells, induced pluripotent stem (iPS) cells, and adult or somatic stem cells. They could be used in other ways, in particular as a supporter of diseased cells and a controlling or adjusting influence within the patient’s central nervous system. Stem cells may be used to treat brain degeneration, such as in Parkinson's, Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, Alzheimer's disease, brain stroke and traumatic brain injury.
