Adolescent Psychiatry
Adolescent Psychiatry is the branch that specializes in the study, diagnosis, treatment and prevention of thinking, feeling and/or behavior affecting children, adolescents and their families. The adolescent psychiatrist uses the knowledge of biological, psychological, and social factors in working with patients. The adolescent psychiatrist makes a diagnosis based on the pattern of behavior and emotional symptoms, using a standardized set of diagnostic criteria such as the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual (DSM-IV-TR) or the International Classification of Diseases (ICD-10).
The Child And Adolescent Psychiatrist
The child and adolescent psychiatrist is a physician who specializes in the diagnosis and the treatment of disorders of thinking, feeling and/or behavior affecting children, adolescents, and their families. A child and adolescent psychiatrist offers families the advantages of medical education, the medical traditions of professional ethics, and medical responsibility for providing comprehensive care.
