Abstract:

This paper accounts for the successful use of aquaculture fish species in developed and developing countries as biological control agents for aquatic weeds, Bulinus snails and mosquito larvae. Specifically, this paper highlights the efficient aquaculture fish species such as the grass carp, Ctenopharyngodon idella and Tilapia niloticus, in controlling aquatic weeds, snails that act as intermediate hosts of bilharzia and mosquito larvae in Canada, Sudan and Somalia and how to breed them artificially by induced breeding on a large-scale.
