Abstract:

Treacher Collins Syndrome (TCS) is a rare genetic disorder with a severe and complex craniofacial malformation affecting the facial skeleton and soft tissues. TCS exhibits a clockwise rotation, steep mandibular plane and retrognathia. The micro retrognathic mandible is a priority for surgical evaluation because it can lead to glossoptosis and upper airway obstruction. In addition, the pharynx has been noted to be abnormally hypoplastic and narrow. We present a case of the Treacher Collins syndrome with a complaint of mastication, pronunciation and mandibulofacial deformity. In this case, we performed a rib bone graft, LeFort I osteotomy, Sagittal Split Ramus Osteotomy (SSRO), Distraction Osteogenesis (DO) to reconstruct mandible and to restore normal occlusion, with satisfactory results.
