Abstract:

The COVID-19 pandemic has had a massive effect on global healthcare services and its effect on prevalence of infective endocarditis (IE) is yet to be fully explored. Here we document our observations at a District General Hospital (DGH) in the UK that IE cases rose during the past year and the co-morbidities of this group of patient in comparison to previous years.

Biography :

Jie has completed his BSc from Queen Mary, University of London and his MBBS at Barts and the London School of Medicine. He is currently undertaking an MSc at the University of Nottingham whilst practising at Princess Alexandra Hospital as an Internal Medical Trainee. He has published papers in reputed journals and is assisting peers at his trust and course in academic writing.
