Abstract:

Purpose: The purpose of this presentation is to propose strategies to recognize and treat men’s sexual health, with a regenerative medical approach, in a clinical setting, as well as acknowledging the needs for developing collated strategies, to increase efficacy of current clinical treatments for men’s sexual dysfunctions. Methods and Materials: Systematic review of peer reviewed research and articles using National Library of Medicine PubMed, Wiley library, Cochrane library, and TRIP database library was conducted on the topic of regenerative medicine treatment options for erectile dysfunction. Key words: erectile dysfunction, Peyronie’s disease, stem cell therapy, platelet rich plasma, low-intensity extracorporeal shockwave treatment, testosterone replacement, vacuum pump therapy, regenerative medicine. Results: Identification of comorbidities, environmental, nutritional and health factors contribute to sexual dysfunction in men. Overall, there are multiple studies and research supporting improvement of angiogenesis and neurogenesis following treatments for sexual dysfunction in men with the use of allogeneic stem cell and platelet rich plasma treatments. Furthermore, regenerative treatments are not only limited to platelet rich plasma, autologous and allogeneic stem cell therapy and can include low-intensity extracorporeal shockwave treatment, in some studies. Conclusion: Regenerative treatment options for men’s sexual health are low risk for injury, harm and are minimally invasive. The potential outcome varies greatly from patient to patient. Informed consent, shared decision making and helping the patient to understand the burden vs benefit of the treatments supports medical ethics, associated with novelty treatments. Keywords: Shape memory effect, martensitic transformation, thermoelasticity, superelasticity, lattice twinning, detwinning. References: 1. Arthur L. Burnett , Ajay Nehra , Rodney H. Breau , Daniel J. In July 2021, she received a “best speaker” award from ICON Star Conferences, for her speech on “Shared Decision Making and Forming a Patient/Provider Team”, to improve patient medical treatment outcomes and compliance. In March 2022, she gave an interview with Men’s Health Magazine, for regenerative treatments for men’s sexual health, which she performs in her clinic, NM Spirit of Wellness LLC. Jeannett has started the process to create a medical provider training program, to teach providers, who are interested in hands-on regenerative medical treatments, to improve patient satisfaction and treatment outcomes.
