Abstract:

Aim: This min-review presents a documented contrarian mini-review that contradicts and displaces the prevailing pathogenesis of Crohn’s disease. Relevance: Crohn’s disease is a growing global epidemic disease deemed to be the consequence of the host’s immune system selectively attacking itself (autoimmunity). For the better part of two decades, therapy has been basically limited to the palliation of disease using primarily biologics and secondary surgical removal of diseased small bowel. Going beyond demonstration of how the Hruska Postulate pathogenesis of Crohn’s disease explains the disease’ emergence into a global epidemic, all aspects of the natural history of disease and application to therapy, the review addresses delineates why the Crohn’s disease epidemic should have never been.

He is President of Infectious Diseases Incorporated to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. He has also served as Consultant in various medical societies and institutions Center for Disease Control, Veteran’s Administration, National Institute of Health, Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development and Food and Drug Administration.
