In the world fisheries production, aquaculture production has an important position and the production reached 73.8 million tons. Mariculture accounts for 36% of this amount (FAO, 2016). With the sectoral development, technological and educational progresses have resulted in a rapid increase in aquaculture. The increase in total production in mariculture is directly related to the increase in production of juvenile fish. The larvae and juvenile periods in the hatchery generally affect the success of the aquaculture. One of the most important stages in production is the care and feeding of the larvae. The first feeding of the larvae is very important in this period. In particular, food content of the selected species should be rich in essential fatty acids required for larvae.In the aquaculture systems, the establishment of a live feed chain (microalgae, rotifer and artemia) and the optimization of the nutritional value according to species are very important in larval aquaculture. In addition, the biology, ecology, nutrition and culture stages of the live feed used in the larval period should be known. Some live feed species currently used in aquaculture are Brachionus plicatilis, Artemia salina, Daphnia pulex, Enchytraeus albidus, Enchytraeus buchhoizi, Panagrellus redivivus, Tenebrio molitor, Copepods, Tubifex tubifex and Polychaeta. Along with changes in the digestive system and feed intake of larval marine fish, their nutritional requirements also vary. Therefore, the nutritional needs of the larvae change at different ages.
