Ischemic stroke or ischemic ictus is one of the worst emergencies in neurointerventional radiology, with the recent advances in devices, materials and techniques of intervention, every interventional radiology services must be prepared to achieve endovascular recanalization to provide the best treatment to the patients, because the natural course of the disease with medical conservative treatment can be catastrophic for the patients, caregivers and the health system in general. We present cases of stroke arterial and venous, and show images and describe techniques available in Colombia, in the Services of Medellin, where we are ready to make a successful stroke team with continuing medical education to the physicians in the emergency room and of the general practice.
