Abstract:

Statement of the problem: The clinical cases involving massive destruction of teeth are difficult to solve without the proper rubber dam isolation. The purpose of this lecture is to describe the special technique for rubber dam isolation used to solve some difficult clinical cases. Methodology & Theoretical Orientation: A newly developed, widely applicable and highly satisfactory rubber dam protocol for usual dental practice will be presented. Findings: The protocol designed for the reconstruction of massive destruction teeth using a reinforced glass fiber post is useful in many cases. Conclusion & Significance: To save the massively destructed teeth using reinforced glass fiber posts the dentist should provide the best rubber dam isolation of the operatory field. The Presentation is useful to the dental practitioners in the conservative and restorative dentistry.

Biography :

Nicolae Cristian Eugen Cazacu obtained his PhD degree from the University of Medicine and Pharmacy in 2016 with the thesis “Considerations about the dental dam isolation of the operatory field in dental medicine”. He is interested in developing new techniques, instruments and materials which will help the dentists to get a better isolation of the operatory field in difficult clinical cases of massive destruction teeth. He has received 2 patents issued by the Romanian State office for Inventions and Trademarks for two instruments: A forceps used to introduce the dam in the tight space between neighbouring teeth and another one for an instrument with mirror which can be attached to any microscope and could really support the dentist during difficult procedures. He has developed the educational platform to provide knowledge for better isolation practice even in clinical cases where many dentists might think it is almost impossible.
