Results revealed that, weed free treatment recorded significantly lowest dry weed weight and highest weed control efficiency, grain yield, straw yield and biological yield. Among the herbicides tried, application of Pendimethalin (PE) @ 0.75 a.i. kg ha-1 recorded significantly higher plant height, number of branches, dry matter accumulation, number of pods, number of seeds, grain yield , straw yield, weed control efficiency and highest net monetary returns and B:C ratio and found most economical and effective in controlling weeds and increasing the yield of chickpea.
