A healthy baby born is good news for a family. However if baby has ambiguous genitalia. It’s a challenge for physician and paramedical to disclose such information carefully and sequentially to parents and to do timely evaluation to reach a diagnosis as soon as possible and eventually manage according to underlying condition. Sometime such neonates are missed or they have subtle abnormalities in their genitalis and they present during childhood or in adolescent /adulthood. There are different reasons for ambiguous genitalia in neonates, older children and adults. We will review the etiologies and management process in this oral communication.
