Abstract:

The aim of this study was to compare the cyclic fatigue resistance of 3 nickel-titanium (NiTi) endodontic instruments from ProTaper Next (Dentsply), NRT (MANNI) and Twisted Files (TF) (SybronEndo). 60 files were used in this study, 20 in each group. The files used are: X2 for Protaper Next and file 25.6 for both NRT and Twisted files systems. The rotation motion speed and torque were used according to the manufacturer of each file system while the reciprocation angels were chosen according to the cross section of each file system. The files were tested inside artificial canal with angle of curvature 60 degrees and radius 5 mm. The time and cycles to failure were calculated. The data were compared for differences by using 2-way analysis of variance (ANOVA).
