In this research, a thick succession of the Jahrum formation at the Kuh-e Kurdeh, interior Fars of the Zagros Basin, southwest Iran was studied and compared with the Jahrum formation in Kuh-e Gach, southeast of Lar area. The Jahrum Formation is one of the most important petroleum reservoirs in the Zagros Basin in Iran. The purpose of this article was to study the benthic foraminifera and introduce assemblage zones for this formation. Based on the occurrence of 26 genera and 37 species of benthic foraminifera, two faunal assemblages of benthic foraminifera is introduced and assigned to the Eocene age.
Elham Nafarieh is currently pursuing her PhD in Geology at Tehran University. She is a Paleontologist at Exploration Directorate of the National Iranian Oil Company. She has worked for my companies since 2010. She has published 6 papers in some reputed journals and presented 3 oral papers.
