Abstract:

The study was carried out in Aegean Agricultural Research Institute research field in Bozdag plateau. This research was conducted also to investigate performance of artichoke and to search time of taken seedling and seedling age in high altitude (1100 m) condition in summer. Artichoke seedling was Sakız variety, were planted in 140x75 cm planting distance as 30 plants in each plot. 2 factor (2 time of taken seedling -TTS- and 2 age of seedling -AS-), one variety and two years were used in randomized block design in three repeats. All results were reviewed statistical analysis. Number of artichoke per plant in growing period (pcs) and total yield (pcs/da) were studied. In the study, the results of the first year: in artichoke parcels, first heads were appearing in the first time of taken seedling and 45 days age of seedling. And also first harvest was done the same combination. In the second year, first harvest was done after 95 days from transplanted for the first time of taken seedling and 60 days age of seedling and 103 days from transplanted for the second time of taken seedling and 45 days age of seedling. This research showed that, there were wide variation in artichoke parcels and it was caused statistical differences. Artichoke seeds should be used in summer production and also artichoke will be produce as alternative crop in different place in future.

Biography :

Funda Yoldas was born in Izmir, Turkey. She’s completed her primary and elementary education at Yavuz Selim primary school in Izmır. And now she’s studying and also working at Ege University. Also she takes courses from the Faculty of Agriculture to improve yourself and degree. Her studies are about vegetable production, production planning, and relates to the management of alternative products. She has many studies, which are received promoting achievement and the award in her Country.
