Abstract:

According to statistics for maxillofacial deformities, the birth rate of children with oral and maxillofacial pathology in Russiais 1:500-1000. Controversial today is the issue of providing primary surgical treatment of children with congenital unilateral cleft lip and palate in the newborn period. Provision of primary surgical care for children in the neonatal period requires a comprehensive approach and testing of clear mechanisms to assist not only the newborn, but also the mother during pregnancy. This should include screening for all pregnant women to identify pathology of the maxillofacial region. To identify the pathology of the maxillofacial area, control, maintenance of pregnancy, hospitalization of the mother just before birth in the maternity hospital is needed. After birth, admission to neonatal surgery to perform the first surgical stage of rehabilitation on the third day of life is done.
