Abstract:

Two dimensional dental imaging has shortcomings like magnification, superimposition and misrepresentaiton of oral structures. Technology brings forth innovative ideas and equipments which simplify our problems with ease. With introduction of cone beam computed tomography and its merger with newer technologies like CAD, CAM, precision in diagnosis and accuracy in treatment has improved manifold. Three dimensional visualization of jaw has made dental treatment more predictable with better prognosis and has decreased morbidity. This talk would highlight how digital dentistry is changing the face of dentistry in various fields like dental implantology, endodontics, orthodontics, sleep apnea disorders and temporomandibular joint disorders. So come join the world of 3D imaging and understand how these technologies work and how it has redefined the modern world of digital dentistry.
