The virus disrupts normal cellular processes, leading to inflammation and long-term discomfort in affected individuals. This chronic joint pain can last for months or even years, significantly impacting quality of life. Protein-targeting drugs have emerged as a promising avenue for managing Chikungunya-induced chronic joint pain. These drugs work by inhibiting specific proteins involved in the inflammatory process initiated by the Chikungunya virus. By targeting these proteins, the drugs can help reduce inflammation and alleviate pain, offering hope to those suffering from prolonged symptoms.
