Biography

Biography and Summary of Experience 
Dr. Zafer Orkun Toktas  is an acting participant and clinical administrator in a neurosurgery department at Bahcesehir University, Istanbul. During and after residency at Marmara University, he participated in research in the field of angiogenesis and spinal degeneration.  Since 2009, he has been working as a busy neurosurgeon, spending one fourth of his work days on research.  Most of this work is dedicated to improving the health of populations through the development of new techniques and methods that will help eliminate certain health disorders.
As a neurosurgeon and PhD student, he is still improving his academic background. He is an active member of the Turkish Neurosurgical society and Spine Society. To date, he served as an instructor at Marmara University, Acibadem University and Bahcesehir University (current). He is one of the youngest faculties of his current institution.  He has played a role in the education of several medical students and fellows. He attends numerous surgical interventions as an everyday work alongside Prof. Kilic who is regarded to as a respected academician and Dean of medical faculty
