Biography

Xiaojing Meng joined New York University Stern School of Business as an Assistant Professor of Accounting in July 2011.Meng’s research interests include financial reporting, corporate governance, and relational contract. She is particularly interested in how different parties strategically communicate their information, and how accounting information is used in firms’ and investors’ decision-making processes. Her recent work on board composition and CEO power is forthcoming in Journal of Financial Economics. Another paper on active investors was published in Review of Accounting Studies. Meng received a B.A. in Economics in 2001 from the Central University of Finance and Economics, an M.A. in Accounting in 2003 from Beijing University, and a Ph.D. in Accounting in 2012 from Columbia Business School. She has received several honors, including the Deloitte & Touche Foundation Doctoral Fellowship, and Columbia Business School Paul and Sandra Montrone Doctoral Fellowship. Meng has presented her research at various university workshops. She is a member of the AAA and CAPANA. She is also an inactive CPA in China.
