Dr. Xiaohua Gao received her M.D. and Ph.D. in Toxicology from Nanjing Medical University In China. In 2008, Dr. Gao came to NIEHS As a Visiting Fellow in the Molecular Pathogenesis Group headed by Dr. Darlene Dixon. While at NIEHS, Dr. Gao has focused on the molecular basis of disease and understanding the pathogenesis of toxicant induced changes in the uterine tissue and cells, and other reproductive endpoints, and the role of toxicants in uterine disease. She has made poster presentations at annual and local meetings of Society of Toxicology (SOT), International Congress of Toxicology (ICT) and Society of Toxicologic Pathology (STP).This past June; Dr. Gao won the 1st place Young Investigator Award (YIA) at the 2012 annual meeting of Society of Toxicologic Pathology (STP). Since coming to NIEHS, Dr. Gao has first authored 3 papers (1 in Toxicology Letters; 1 in Archives of Toxicology, and 1 in American Journal of Physiology Endocrinology and Metabolism) and has co authored 4 additional papers.
