Biography

William Griffith, Ph.D., holds a Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry (forensic and industrial applications) from the University of North Texas and has over 38 years experience within public service and instruction. This experience included 27 years directly within law enforcement serving in patrol, criminal investigations, forensic investigations, forensic laboratory analysis, internal affairs, and as Chief of Police. After retiring as a Master Peach Officer with TCLEOSE and Chief of Police, additional experience (approximately 11 years) was gained serving in the capacity of consultant regarding criminal and civil cases involving police action, investigative activities and forensic science while completing graduate work. Dr. Griffith is currently maintains a commission as Peace Officer and Basic Instructor Certification with TCLEOSE. Additionally, Dr. Griffith is recognized as a Certified Trainer, Senior Police Training Associate with the International Police Training and Consulting Services, LLC.

Research Interest

Dr. Griffith’s research interest includes police training issues, public safety administration, emergency management and forensic analysis. Dr. Griffith is currently exploring the application of wave guide chemical sensing for application with DNA analysis, cancer research and homeland security.
