Biography

Dr. Ma obtained his MD in 1989, MS in Clinical Oncology in 1997, and PhD in Oncology in 2002 after practicing for 8 years as an attending Oncologist. He was promoted to assistant project scientist at UC San Diego in 2007, associate project scientist in 2013 after being trained for 5 years as a postdoc at UNMC, UW-Madison and UC San Diego. He was then recruited as a distinguished professor and the dean at Huzhou University School of Medicine in China from 2013 to 2014; a senior scientist at Cynvenio from 2015-2016. He is now an associate project scientist and team leader at UC San Diego Moores Cancer Center. In addition, he served the reviewers for multiple relevant journals including Int J Cancer, Oncotarget, Nanomedicine, J Vaccines Immun, Drug Des Devel Ther, Int J Biol Sci, Curr Med Chem, ACS Appl Mater Interfaces, Int J Nanomedicine and Drug Delivery, etc.

Research Interest

Cancer Immunology, Cancer Immunotherapy include cancer vaccines, Adoptive T-cell therapy; Targeted Cancer (leukemia) Stem Cells Therapeutics.
