Biography

Dr. Chen received his M.D. from Huazhong University of Science and Technology School of Medicine in China. He received his post-doctoral fellow training in Cardiology at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and at Ohio State University School of Medicine. He joined Dr. Joe GN Garcia’s Group as a Research Associate at University of Chicago’s School of Medicine at 2005. He currently serves as an Assistant Professor of the pulmonary, critical care, sleep and allergy medicine at the University of Illinois at Chicago’s School of Medicine since 2010.

Research Interest

Dr. Chen’s laboratory’s researches include: (1) elucidation of the importance of endothelial cell junction integrity in pulmonary inflammatory diseases; (2) Seeking the medicines that potentially improve pulmonary endothelial barrier integrity and further improve the outcome of the pulmonary inflammatory diseases.
