Dr. Wei-Qin Zhuang is currently an Assistant Project Scientist in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, at the University of California, Berkeley. He has been a postdoctoral researcher in the same department at here UC Berkeley during the past several years. He received both his Master’s and Ph.D. degrees in Environmental Biotechnology and Engineering from Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. His Bachelor’s degree in Bio-Chemical Engineering was received from Tianjin University in China. He has published 17 peer-reviewed papers in the fields such as bioremediation of crude oil contamination, biotransformation and biodegradation of organic solvents in groundwater, microbe-metallic nanoparticle interactions, and consolidated biological-membrane wastewater treatment and reclamation processes. Dr. Zhuang has severed as a reviewer for several international journals in the areas of microbial physiology, microbial metabolic biochemistry/engineering, biological water treatment, and applied bionanotechnology.
