Experimental studies have shown the acceleration of the ageing process and the increase of the risk of development of the diseases associated with age, including the metabolic syndrome, diabetes and cancer, in the conditions of natural light regime of the North. It is shown that the long-term residence in the North and near the Western border of the time zone leads to increased morbidity and mortality from cancer of the individual locations and to reduced life expectancy.
