Biography

Dr. Ekaterine Tskitishvili graduated from Tbilisi State Medical University (Faculty of General Medicine) in Georgia and received her M.D. in 1995. She completed her internship and residency programs at the State Scientific-Research Institute of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Perinatology in Tbilisi and worked as an Obstetrician-Gynecologist in Georgia until 2003. Upon receiving the Japanese Government Scholarship, she attended the Perinatology Group at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Osaka University Graduate School of Medicine in Japan in 2003. Dr. E. Tskitishvili received her Ph.D. in Medical Sciences from Osaka University in 2008 and rejoined the same team as a fellow of the Japanese Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS). In 2010 she was invited to join the Laboratory of Development Biology and Tumors at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology/Department of Clinical Sciences of the University of Liege in Belgium.

Research Interest

Pre-eclampsia, Gestational diabetes mellitus, FGR (IUGR), Preterm birth, Neonatal hypoxic-ischemic brain damage (perinatal brain damage).
