Biography

Dr. Toru Shizuma worked as a medical intern at St. Luke’s International Hospital (Tokyo, Japan). He earned his PhD at Tokyo Women’s Medical College in 1998, and in 2007, he joined the faculty at the International University of Health and Welfare Hospital in Tochigi, Japan, as a clinician and an assistant professor at the Department of Gastroenterology where he served until 2009. From 2012, he holds the position of an associate professor at the Department of Physiology, School of Medicine and Department of Bio-Medical Engineering, School of Engineering, Tokai University (Kanagawa, Japan) to date.
