I am Director of the Health Law Institute and Associate Professor of Law at Hamline University School of Law. I am also an Adjunct Associate Professor at Albany Medical College.
I came to Hamline in 2012, after teaching at Widener University School of Law from 2007 to 2011 and at the University of Memphis School of Law from 2005 to 2007. Before entering academia, I worked seven years for Arnold & Porter LLP (in Los Angeles and Washington, DC), and clerked on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. I earned both my J.D. and Ph.D. (in philosophy & bioethics) from Georgetown University. While at Georgetown, I conducted research for both the Kennedy Institute of Ethics and the Law Center. I earned my B.A. (in philosophy) from the University of Pittsburgh.
