Biography

Dr. Tarek S Belal is an Associate Professor of Pharmaceutical Analytical Chemistry and Quality Control at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Alexandria University, Egypt. Dr. Belal received his BSc in Pharmacy in 1994, and PhD in Pharmaceutical Analysis in 2005 from Alexandria University. In 2007, he joined the Department of Pharmacal Sciences at Harrison School of Pharmacy, Auburn University, Alabama, USA as a research fellow. He is currently teaching general and physical chemistry, analytical chemistry, instrumental analysis and pharmaceutical quality control to pharmacy students in Alexandria University. Dr. Belal published 35 research papers in peer reviewed scientific journals and about 7 abstracts in national and international conferences. He served as a reviewer for more than 10 international journals specialized in analytical chemistry and its applications.

Research Interest

Pharmaceutical and forensic analysis using separation techniques mainly HPLC and GC. Development and validation of stability indicating assays of pharmaceuticals using several instrumental techniques. Development of chemical derivatization methods for the analysis of pharmaceutical compounds.
