Biography

Dr. Chavva has earned his Ph.D. in chemistry from, Jackson State University, Jackson, MS; M.S. in. Industrial Chemistry from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad, Hyderabad, India; B.S. from Osmania University, Hyderabad, India. He is currently working as a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Oncologic Sciences, Mitchell Cancer Institute, University of South Alabama, Mobile, AL.

Research Interest

Development of gold nanoparticle based Surface Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy (SERS) probes for selective detection of cancer.
Graphene oxide based multicolor imaging of cancer cells and bacteria.
Graphene oxide based two-photon imaging of cancer cells and bacteria.
Development of multifunctional magnetic nanoprobes for selective separation and detection of heterogeneous tumor cells.
Development of gold nanoparticle based multimodal nonlinear optical imaging probes for detection of cancer cells.
Development of multifunctional hybrid nanomaterials for concentration, detection and killing of cancer cells and bacteria.
Graphene oxide based multifunctional membranes and 3D architectures for selective separation, identification and killing of circulting tumor cells, bacteria and viruses.
Designing multicolor long-range nanoscopic rulers for the imaging of heterogeneous tumor cells.
Designing long-range two-photon scattering spectroscopy ruler for screening cancer cells.
