Biography

Stephen Hawser  is CEO of IHMA Europe Sàrl, a wholly owned subsidiary of International Health Management Associates, Inc. IHMA Europe Sàrl is based in Epalinges, Switzerland and began operations in February 2009. Prior to joining IHMA, Stephen held several key positions in the pharmaceutical industry with focus in antibacterial and antifungal research and development. His 14 years of industry experience has come with his affiliations with Arpida (Switzerland), GlaxoWellcome (Italy), Hoechst Marion Roussel (Paris) and Marion Merrell Dow (Italy). In his most recent position at Arpida he held the position of Director of Microbiology. He was a senior scientist at Glaxo, and lead the antifungal chemotherapy unit at Hoechst Marion Roussel. His first industry position was with Marion Merrell Dow at the Lepetit Natural Products Research Center where he was coordinator of the in vitro microbiology section.
