Biography

Dr. Shouji Shimoyama graduated from University of Tokyo in 1987, and has been engaged in clinical practice of upper gastrointestinal surgery and endoscopy. He got a position of a research fellow in the Department of General Surgery, University of Ulm in Germany (1994-1996), followed by an Assistant Professor in the Department of Gastrointestinal Surgery, University of Tokyo. He is currently a Director of Settlement Clinic in Tokyo since 2008, and a member of adjunct teaching staff of Department of Gastrointestinal Surgery, University of Tokyo. He has published over 50 peer-reviewed papers and has been an author of 3 book chapters. He has served on the Editorial Board of several journals in the field of gastroenterology.
