He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology in 1992. He received his Master and Doctor of Engineering degrees in Mechanical Engineering (Major: Manufacturing) from Kansai University Graduate School in 1996 and 1999, respectively. He worked as a full-time faculty member at Asian Institute of Technology (2000-2002, Assistant Professor), United Arab Emirates University (2002-2006, Assistant Professor, 2006-2009, Associate Professor). He moved to Japan again in 2009, and joined Kitami Institute of Technology as a full-time faculty member (Associate Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering), where he is still continuing, and directs its Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Research Laboratory.
His research field is knowledge-based systems for product realization engineering. He has published about 100 articles in reputed journals, books, and conference proceedings.
