Sharad Kumar Suthar currently serves as a Senior Researcher at the Neuroscience Research Institute, Gachon University in South Korea. Prior to this role, he held the position of Lead Scientist at Motorpharma in Budapest, Hungary. His research interests encompass the development of compounds aimed at promoting neuronal regeneration through the inhibition of non-muscle myosin-2, as well as the exploration of anti-aging compounds.
Notably, Dr. Suthar has played a pivotal role in the development of p-aminoblebbistatin, a widely utilized tool compound globally for the study of neuronal regeneration. Furthermore, his research has contributed to the creation of a groundbreaking clinical drug candidate MPH-220/MTR-601, which represents a first-in-class solution for addressing a range of neurological applications. These applications include muscle spasticity and stiffness associated with brain injuries, ischemic stroke neuronal disorders, cerebral palsy, and paralysis.
Chemical synthesis, purification, SAR/SPR optimization, and PK/PD studies of myosin-II inhibitors for application in neurodegenerative diseases, ischemic stroke, and as skeletal muscle relaxants.
