Dr. Sergey V Pisklakov, MD is an outstanding clinician. He is a Director of Neuroanesthesia Service at the Department of Anesthesiology at Rutgers University – New Jersey Medical School. His clinical activities focused in Neurosurgical Anesthesia. The trajectory of his academic career in research has been quite remarkable. Dr. Pisklakov is the author of 14 peer-reviewed articles, 21 abstracts, 2 reviews, 2 Problem-Based Learning Discussions and numerous presentations. Nine of these articles have been published in the last 3 years. The results of my work have been presented at National and International Conferences. Dr. Pisklakov is an outstanding educator. In addition to clinical supervision and teaching in the operating rooms, he prepares lectures for anesthesiology residents and medical students. Dr. Pisklakov is frequently invited to present lectures to neurosurgical residents, students, and the faculty. His medical student lectures on Neuroanesthesia has earned him two Golden Apple nominations. Dr. Pisklakov contributed to a chapter on the management of anesthesia for intracranial aneurysm clippings and on anesthesia for intracranial mass removal in “Rapid Review: Anesthesiology Oral Boards” by Cambridge Press. Dr. Pisklakov is a Chair of the departmental Clinical Competency Committee. He is a member of the Department’s Resident Selection, Education and Quality Assurance Committees. He is also a reviewer for Brit J of Medicine and Medical Research, Brit J of Education and Behavioral Science, and for Open Journal of Anesthesiology.
