Biography
Sercan Akyalcin, DDS, PhD., is as full-time Clinical Assistant Professor at the Department of Orthodontics of the University of Texas Dental Branch at Houston He was an assistant professor in the Division of Orthodontics at the University of Manitoba, Faculty of Dentistry in Canada before this appointment. He has more than 40 published articles and abstracts in peer-reviewed journals and conference books. His main focus in academia is the achievement of excellence in clinical training and research supervision of dental and orthodontic residents.
Research Interest
Dr. Akyalcin has many clinical-based research interests including digital diagnosis and treatment planning, facial and smile esthetics, orthodontic treatment mechanics and materials science.
