Biography
Dr. Salah Gariballa initially trained in Medicine at the University Khartoum, Sudan. Then moved to Britain where after extensive clinical and academic experience acquired postgraduate degrees in Acute General Internal Medicine and Clinical Nutrition.
1.Held an accredited Clinical Lecturer post at Birmingham University, 1995 –1998 and Clinical Senior Lecturer at the University of Sheffield and Honorary Consultant Physician 1999-2005.
2. Currently a Professor and Head of Department, FMHS, UAEU.
3. Research interest: My research programme is on interactions between nutrition, disease and ageing and the role of nutrition in prevention and treatment of disease.
4. Conducted a number of externally funded clinical trials, lectured & published widely on this subject including recent 2 chapters and a textbook on the role Nutrition in treatment & prevention of chronic diseases.
