Biography
Professor Rocio IR Macias born in Erlangen Germany in 1968 and received her PhD in Pharmacy from the University of Salamanca Spain in 1996 following which she continued her training in Pathophysiology as Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Zurich Switzerland 1999 and at the Immunology Department National Health Institute Carlos III Majadahonda Spain and during sabbatical stages at the Universities of Paris 2004 and Düsseldorf 2007. In 2008 Dr. Macias got a Professor position in Physiology at the University of Salamanca. She has actively participated in the predoctoral and postdoctoral education of more than 20 young scientists. During the last decade she has been interested in the investigation of pharmacological strategies to overcome resistance to chemotherapy and improve targeting of anticancer drugs towards tumors of the enterohepatic circuit. She has contributed with more than 50 in internationals journals eg. Hepatology Journal of Hepatology , Biochemical Journal International Journal of Cancer Molecular Pharmacology, American Journal of Physiology, Journal of Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics.
