Rita Cantor M
Professor of Human Genetics, UCLA School of Medicine
USA
Dr. Cantor is a Professor in the Department of Human Genetics in the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA and the Center for Neuropsychiatric Research in the Department of Psychiatry in the Semel Institute at UCLA. She has an educational background in mathematics, biostatistics and human genetics, and expertise in analyzing complex and multifaceted genetic data sets and adapting newly developed genetic analytic approaches to these endeavors. For the past 20 years, she has been responsible for planning, conducting and supervising statistical and genetic analyses for common complex diseases on multiple projects. Her current focus is psychiatric disorders, and in particular quantitative traits and gene by environment interactions associated with autism spectrum disorders. She is also involved in gene discovery endeavors in coronary artery disease and systemic lupus erythematosus. Her current analytic interests include methods for conducting additional studies with existing GWAS data.
My research interests are statistical genetics methods, genetics of complex diseases, genetics of psychiatric disorders, genetics of autism spectrum disorders , genetics of coronary artery disease and genetics of systemic lupus erythematosus.
