Biography

Ralf Hass, PhD, is a Professor of Biochemistry and Cell Biology and currently affiliated at the Medical University in Hannover, Germany. He received his PhD in Biochemistry following studies in Hannover, at the University of San Diego, California, at the Max-Planck-Institute for Experimental Medicine in Göttingen, Germany, and at the New York Medical School, Valhalla,. His scientific work mainly focuses on molecular signaling pathways in several kinds of stem cells (hematopoietic and mesenchymal stem cells) and different types of tumor cells (leukemia, breast cancer, ovarian cancer) with respect to unlimited self-renewal and the prevention of aging and senescence. He worked as a post-doc at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Harvard Medical School in Boston and thereafter, was appointed as Assistant Professor at the University Clinic Charité in Berlin before moving to Hannover, Germany. Dr. Hass is Associate Editor and Editorial Board Member of several peer-reviewed journals and he is council member and former president of the international Signal Transduction Society
