Dr. Partha Banerjee is an Associate Professor in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular & Cellular Biology and Member of Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center at Georgetown University Medical Center, Washington DC. He received B. Sc. in Zoology Honors from the University of Calcutta, India; M. Sc. in Life-Science and Ph. D. in Endocrine Biochemistry from Visva-Bharati University, Santiniketan, India. Dr. Banerjee did his postdoctoral training from Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, USA. He is a recipient of visiting scientist fellowship from the National Science Council, Government of Taiwan, American Federation of Aging Research Award, Department of Defense New Investigator Award and several NIH R01 awards. He serves as an Associate Editor of Journal of Carcinogenesis, and editorial board members of The Open Prostate Cancer Journal, World Journal of Clinical Oncology, Journal of Cancer Research & Therapy. He serves as a scientific reviewer for DOD and NIH study sections and reviewers for 25 leading cancer journals.
His research focuses on an epigenetically silenced tumor suppressor gene, RASSF1A, regulation of androgen receptor signaling and non-canonical function of telomerase reverse transcriptase in prostate cancer.
