Dr Onofa Lucky E.Umukoro, M.B;B.S, M.SC, FWACP, MNIM is a Senior Consultant Psychiatrist to Neuropsychiatric Hospital Aro, Nigeria.With the Overseas Clinical attachment/training in Rehabilitation and Recovery Psychiatric Services and Community Mental Health Based Services in East London NHS Trust, he has worked actively in Rehabilitation,Community and Adult Psychiatry department of the hospital. He is a resource person to both the faculty of Psychiatry of the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria and West African College of Physicians. He is an active member of the West African College of Physicians (Psychiatry)’ Curriculum Review team. He is actively involved in mental health teaching and training of medical students, resident doctors and other health professionals. He has served as Chairman to administrative and investigating panel set up by the hospital and was the head of Lantoro Wing (327 bed space0 of the hospital (2008 – 2012) with commendation letter for exemplary leadership skills. He is the head of Training subcommittee of Aro Hospital Research Management Team. He is a presenter and illustrator at both local and International Conferences in Psychiatry. He has published research works both in Local and International Journal of Psychiatry. He has won several awards among which are the maiden Award of Best Doctor of the year 2003 of Neuropsychiatry Hospital, Aro, Abeokuta; Commendation award by the Nigerian Police, Ebonyi State – 1998 and he is the runner up of the International Bennett Douglas Prize in Social and Rehabilitation Psychiatry (November, 2013, Birmingham, United Kingdom).
