Dr. Muhammad Rafique, MD is assistant professor of Anesthesiology and Pediatric Anesthesia at University of Texas medical School at Houston, Houston, TX. Dr. Rafique completed his residency in anesthesiology at Tufts New England Medical Center in 2003. Then he did a pediatric anesthesia fellowship with a special interest in anesthesia for patients with congenital heart disease. Dr. Rafique’s current clinical practice includes anesthesia for pediatric cardiac surgery at University of Texas Medical School at Houston. Dr. Rafique is certified by American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA) and also serves as oral board examiner for ABA. Dr. Rafique serves as the Texas Medical Board (TMB) expert panelist for pediatric anesthesia.
Dr. Muhammad Rafique Research Interests include coagulation deficiencies in neonates after open heart surgery, coagulation aberrations in cyanotic heart disease, pediatric anesthesia outcomes, pediatric airway outcomes and fluid and electrolyte derangements.
