Mohammad Abdollahi (MA) is Professor of Toxicology and Pharmacology and dean of department at Tehran University of Medical Sciences (TUMS). Main expertise of MA is in Mechanistic Toxicology and Disease Models/Biomarkers, and Evidence-Based Medicine. One of the research interests of MA is the mechanisms relating chronic exposure to toxic compounds and the induction of debilitating human diseases. MA is expert in the field of oxidative stress, a biochemical/molecular mechanism which plays a role in many human debilitating diseases. MA has been President of Irantox since 2006 and director of Toxicology Examination Board since 2004. MA has been listed among top 1% top scientists of the world in the field of Pharmacology/Toxicology according to Essential Science Indicator from Thompson Reuters ISI. MA is the prizer of the IAS-COMSTECH in the field of Pharmacology and Toxicology in 2005 and a fellow of IAS since 2009. MA is one of leading scientists of OIC member countries. MA is an active member of more than 100 international academic journals and societies. MA is a correspondent to World Library of Toxicology and WHO in the fields of Toxicology of Pesticides, Poison Information Centers, and Lead Poisoning. MA is a member of scientific advisory board in OPCW. MA has published over 450 high impact full papers, and contributed to 20 books from famous publishers. Total citations of MA in textbooks and journals are over 7000. MA is Editor-in-Chief of two journals from Elsevier (Journal of Medical Hyptheses and Ideas) and BioMed Central (DARU Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences). MA is the associate editor to the 3rd edition of the major reference textbook of Elsevier “Encyclopedia of Toxicology”. MA is also editing a new book entitled “Basic and Clinical Toxicology of Organophosphorous Compounds” for Springer.
